Preparation Project for the Implementation of Kainuu Investment Strategy

Through the measures of a previous development project “Kainuu Investment Strategy 2022–2025”, which ended at the end of April 2022, a regional investment strategy has been written by the Regional Council of Kainuu in cooperation with the key interest groups. The investment strategy will be used to guide the future development measures, financing, and the tightened cooperation, in order to attract investments to  the Kainuu region. In autumn period 2022, the decision-makers of Kainuu municipalities have approved the Kainuu Investment Strategy for years 2022–2025 and the regional cooperation model proposal described in the  strategy. The municipality-specific focus areas and their prioritization have been compiled in bilateral negotiations.

It has been decided to apply for project financing to implement the regional investment strategy. Through this preparatory project, a larger project application covering the period 2023–2024 will be submitted, with measures to support the implementation of the Kainuu Investment Strategy in an efficient and coordinated manner.
