e-Mopoli project held it’s phase 1 final conference on the 19th of May 2021. The final conference was organised into three parts. There were inputs from the Joint Secretariat of Interreg Europe, all the partners and experts from partner regions in the focus group on the alternative fuel mobility scenarios.
Most partners have adopted financially important programs to renew the transport fleets towards e-mobility. The interactive session at the end of the event proved that the future transport energy modes are going towards hydrogen and electric vehicles.
The Regional Council of Kainuu contributed the action plan presentation and an expert presentation about the alternative propulsion fuels in the Barents region. The action plan stresses the following action to be executed during the phase 2 of the project:
- Policy integration,
- Infrastructure,
- Mobilization initiatives and
- Research integration.
The expert presentation was held by Jussi Huotari, the project manager of Kolarctic CBC project BRTL. He presented the case studies made in this project to provide a view on the future options on different modes of transport in the Northernmost regions of Europe.
