European Week Amazing Race – Kajaani as a Historical Part of Europe
The event is called “Amazing Race”, but doesn’t have much in common with the adventure reality game show known by the same name. Instead of running from destination to another and performing challenges against other teams, the purpose here is to visit Kajaani sites and see them from a fresh perspective. The participants might also be a bit amazed, finding out the history of each of the sites. Of course, small prizes are also reserved for the most active participants.
What is This Event About?
There are many historical monuments and sites in the centre of Kajaani that not all Kajaanians are aware of. During the race you might learn something new about Kajaani as a European city. In a nutshell, the purpose is to visit sites marked on the map.
As you prove to have visited at least 5 sites and leave your contact details (name and phone number or email address) you will be entered into a draw to win 10 prize bags.
On Friday at 1 to 3 pm and Saturday at 11 am to 1 pm, you can meet Kajaani city guides or even “historical figures” at some of the points!
A refueling point with coffee, other refreshments and snacks will be available at the Town Hall Square on Friday between 12 am and 3 pm. la klo 11-13 and Saturday at 11 am to 1 pm.
It is allowed and even desirable to post photos of the ticked checkpoints and/or information boards on social media with the hashtags (hashtag/#) found on the ticks.
