Regional Council of Kainuu is a partner in Interreg Europe project INNO PROVEMENT, which focuses on Policies to improve the use of Industry 4.0 in SMEs. Kainuu focus in the project is how the traditional industries benefit from the Industry 4.0. The project is launching a feasibility study together with VTT to support the development and implementation of the regional action plan.
The main focus areas of the study are following: supporting the SMEs to uptake I4.0, how to support businesses with qualified business services in the fields of Industry 4.0 and data analytics as part of Industry 4.0, education adapting to industry 4.0 requirements, networking to effectively implement the forthcoming revised RIS3. The feasibility study will conclude with policy recommendations for future projects in the field of Industry 4.0 & data analytics. A model for making the value of Industry 4.0 more easily accessible to SMEs has also been discussed. The feasibility study is expected to be finalized in November of 2020.
The feasibility study was introduced during the Regional Stakeholder Meeting of the INNO PROVEMENT project on 18.8.2020. Representatives from Regional Council of Kainuu, VTT, Kajaani University of Applied Sciences, CEMIS and CSC, who are also members of the feasibility study steering group participated as well.
