Kainuu Participating Emigration Expo 2023 in Houten

Kainuu needs immigration and skilled labour. As one step towards boosting international recruitment, the region is for the first time participating Europe’s largest meeting point for the entire emigration industry. The event takes place in Houten, Netherlands, on 1st and 2nd April 2023. Come and meet us there!

The Houten Emigration Expo is a huge event with more than 1 million job vacancies, 200 exhibitors and 11,000 visitors. At the exhibition emigrants, expats, students, entrepreneurs, job seekers and anyone else looking to live abroad will find a comprehensive range of options, services and products pertaining Living, Working, Studying and Entrepreneurship in other countries, conveniently grouped by theme and region. You’ll be able to meet the Kainuu delegation along the rest of the Finnish representatives at their booth in the Scandinavian Hall.

The aim of Kainuu team at the expo is to bring up the various possibilities the Kainuu region has to offer. So, in addition to the jobs available and the work culture/ conditions, we’ll be talking about how it is to live in Kainuu. About our nature and society, housing, hobby opportunities, schools and studying and so on. Together with the whole Finnish team, we want to offer our visitors all the information they need and help them find their own favorite place in Finland to consider as their new home. Kainuu is a popular tourist destination, so we’ll also be telling about the tourism attractions and activities a bit. Perhaps one may come for a visit first and fall in love with our sympathetic region!

There is a vast amount of skilled labour at the expo, who are genuinely seeking for a new location outside Netherlands. Many of them are looking for more room to breathe, so to say, and for a new, more relaxed lifestyle.  That’s where the strengths of Kainuu are – you can downshift all year round here and be near to nature, but still have a meaningful career, have interesting hobbies and live as a part of a modern society. We are looking forward to sharing this all with our visitors.
