The Activation Project of Green and Fair Transition in Kainuu

Project Goals

The project goal is to speed up activities in Kainuu region related to the goals of the European Union’s Green Deal. More precisely, the project activities aim to enhance and speed up the implementation of the Innovation and skills in Finland 2021-2027 program in the region, including the Just Transition Fund (JTF) goals and measures included in the above mentioned programme. At the same time, the aim is to activate project planning of also other programs operating in the region, and thereby to support the full and effective implementation of green transition measures more widely.

As a result of the project, the cooperation and networking among the green transition related actors in the region will be strengthened and the know-how of the different parties improved. This will result in more effective projects, in new development ideas proceeding to project preparation, as well as in several projects and groups of projects with funding from different funding instruments implemented in the region. By strengthening  the cross-regional cooperation, it is also intended to prepare joint projects for organisations in Northern Finland.

The green transition projects will strengthen the business life of the region and help the business development of companies, as well as strengthen the employment in the region.
